Amanda Davis
As a lifelong New Yorker, Amanda Davis brings a personal understanding of the communities she serves, along with nearly 10 years of prosecution experience and an extensive background in criminal litigation, having practiced as a prosecutor in two New York City District Attorney's Offices.
Amanda attended Brooklyn Law School, where she earned her Juris Doctor in 2017. During law school, she was a member of the Moot Court Honor Society, Trial Division, and the Criminal Law Society. She was admitted to practice law in New York in January 2018.
Amanda began her legal career as an Assistant District Attorney with the Richmond County District Attorney's Office, where she handled a substantial misdemeanor caseload and prosecuted criminal matters from arraignment through trial. She subsequently joined the Bronx County District Attorney's Office, where she prosecuted a wide range of criminal offenses, including homicide, attempted murder, violent robbery, assault, narcotics offenses, and firearms-related crimes.
While at the Bronx County District Attorney's Office, Amanda conducted numerous trials and hearings and handled complex criminal investigations involving search warrants, subpoenas, and electronic evidence. She also worked alongside local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies in the investigation and prosecution of criminal matters.
She later served as a Supervising Assistant District Attorney in the General Crimes Bureau. In that capacity, she helped oversee a bureau of approximately 60-90 Assistant District Attorneys, guided attorneys through investigations, hearings, trials, and developing litigation strategies. In addition to her supervisory responsibilities, Amanda played an active role in attorney education and professional development. She developed and presented litigation training programs, participated in new attorney orientation, and trained and mentored attorneys in courtroom advocacy, including preparing and presenting cases to the grand jury.
Following her tenure in public service, Amanda entered private practice, where she gained additional experience managing civil litigation matters and representing clients through all phases of litigation, before transitioning her practice to criminal defense.
Having spent nearly a decade on the prosecution side of the criminal justice system, Amanda brings a valuable perspective to criminal defense. Her firsthand knowledge of how criminal cases are investigated, evaluated, and prosecuted informs her approach to defending clients. She draws upon that background to approach each case with careful preparation, thoughtful strategy, and a commitment to protecting her clients' rights.
